Artistic Innovation in Dance Award!

Luca Silvestrini receives the Artistic Innovation in Dance Award at One Dance UK Awards 2024.

We are delighted to see Luca receiving this prestigious award for Home from Home.

Produced by Encore East, this innovative project brought together 4 companies of older dancers and 5 choreographers. Under Luca’s artistic direction, the year long collaboration culminated in In the End we Begin, a full length work made by merging the different works and companies into one. Performed at Dance East, Norwich Playhouse and The Place in November 2023, In the End we Begin was greatly acclaimed by both the public and the wider dance sector.

Home from Home aims to raise the visibility and aspirations of older dancers, to challenge assumptions about ageing and the aesthetic of dance, to champion excellence in community practice and to surprise and delight audiences.
